Happy fifth birthday to a free Iraq

CELEBRATE the fall of Saddam, rejoice in the birth of a new democracy, but never forget the thousands of American and hundreds of British troops who gave their lives so this could be possible.

Remember also the hundreds of thousands of brave Iraqis murdered by terrorists these past five years.

Freedom, liberty, justice, equality, democracy ... values they hate; values we love.

Although it might be free from Saddam, it is hardly 'free', is it? It is under occupation by foreign powers, having its previously publically owned oil reserves plundered from abroad, and subject to the ruthless machinations of vile terrorist murdering its civillians; many of whom are also foreigners with no benefit to be gained from a better Iraq.

If we love democracy so much, why are we blackmailing the Iraqi parliament to pass the petrochemicals bill?

Were the foreign powers to leave overnight, many more Iraqis would be killed. That cannot be what you want.

They are there at the behest of the democratically elected Iraqi government. The surge has worked. Fewer Iraqis are being murdered.

Sorry, but you'll have to tell me more about the petrochemicals bill.
