United through to last sixteen

Manchester United qualified for the knockout stage of the Champions League as group winners following a 3-1 home win over Benfica - revenge for last year when the Portugese knocked them out of Europe at the same stage.

Here are the highlights of last night's game:

Also through as group winners are Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Lyons, AC Milan, Bayern Munich and Valencia, along with Celtic, PSV Eindhoven, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Lille, Porto, AS Roma and holders Barcelona.

The Premiership are the best represented league with four clubs through, followed closely by Serie A & La Liga - three teams apiece - and Le Championnat (two). The Bundesliga, Scottish Premier League, Eredivisie and Portugese Liga have one representative each.

The draw for the last 16 takes place next Friday (15th December) at 11:00am. Follow it live on the UEFA or BBC Sport websites.
